Milestones in Dialysis
Ultrapure Dialysate - DIASAFE® Plus Filter The passage of pyrogens and their fragments into a patient’s blood has been shown to cause acute clinical symptoms and contribute to long-term complications. Significant clinical research and studies have documented a relationship between purification of dialysis water and patient outcomes, such as incidence of dialysis related amyloidosis, hypoalbuminemia, inflammatory response, improved nutritional status, plasma level of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE) and cardiovascular morbidity.

Fresenius Medical Care was the first to offer the nephrology community ultrafiltered, ultrapure dialysate. Today, all Fresenius Medical Care 2008® series hemodialysis systems are equipped with the DIASAFE Plus Filter.
