Milestones in Dialysis
Access Flow Measurement Decreased functionality in vascular access can result in inadequate dialysis, due to low access blood flow and can diminish life of the access, potentially leading to hospitalization. The Access Flow feature, first integrated on the 2008K series hemodialysis machines, provides on-screen, step-by-step instructions for monthly access flow measurement used in conjunction with the CombiSet blood tubing with Twister reverse-flow device. The trending of access flow measurements may permit intervention at patient-specific limits before access failure.2
